What is the Fire Officer apprenticeship? The Fire Officer program is a two-year, 4,000-hour apprenticeship designed to prepare firefighters for supervisory and administrative roles. It includes 370 hours of higher-education coursework covering leadership, incident command, instruction, and safety officer responsibilities.

What is the Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator apprenticeship? This one-year, 2,000-hour apprenticeship trains firefighters in the technical and mechanical skills required to safely operate and maintain fire apparatus. Apprentices complete 166 academic and department training hours in fire hydraulics, pump operations, and emergency vehicle operations.
